The primary function of this position is to provide leadership, direction, and supervision for all financial services and internal compliance. The position also serves as the main system leader for the following district support services; Testing, Attendance/CHINS committee, Alternative Education, and Pre-Kindergarten Program.

Qualifications:
- Prior principal experience is highly preferred.
- Valid Georgia Educational Leadership Certificate at level 5 or higher.
- Knowledge of FTE/QBE and maximizing state revenue formulas.
- Knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, grants management, and internal controls.
- Written and oral communication, leadership, organizational/interpersonal skills, and computer competence. Experience with Microsoft Excel preferred.
- Ability to work well with various stakeholders of the school system.
- Ability to analyze and communicate complex issues and data.
- Ability to maintain emotional control under stress.
- Ability to be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work.
The board of education and superintendent may accept alternatives to some of the above requirements.
Job Objectives:
- Prepare the system’s annual operating budget.
- Compile information from the county’s tax assessor’s office in determination of the district’s annual millage rate.
- Studies changes in grants, programs, state board of education rules, and legislation to predict their impact on the school system budget.
- Maintains the highest level of confidentiality and exercises professional judgment in all matters of Financial Administration.
- Attends conferences and ongoing professional learning at pertinent state conferences/workshops.
- Assists principals in developing master schedules in the student information system that maximize FTE earnings.
- Maintain appropriate records of federal, state, and local grant programs.
- Responsible for budget development and communication with schools and departments..
- Monitor the Board approved budget throughout the year and periodically develop budget amendments to present to the Board for approval as needed.
- Serve on the superintendent’s system leadership team as well as various committees as needed.
- Maintains the system’s Pre-Kindergarten grant, required professional learning, and general compliance.
- Serves as the system liaison between the school and the district attorney regarding attendance and vaping.
- Serves as the evaluator and supervisor of the system’s social worker.
- Serves as the school system’s testing coordinator.
- Oversees the system’s alternative education programs.
- Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
- Adhere to the Code of Ethics for Educators in Georgia.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
- Maintain the confidentiality of information and records for students and staff.
- All other duties as assigned.
