Reports to and Evaluated by: Director of Technology
Job Objectives:
- Assists in resolving technology-related problems among schools and departments
- Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end-user workstations and related hardware and software in a timely and cost conscious manner
- Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of technology problems for end-users and implement corrective solutions
- Ensure the continuous efficiency of all hardware, software, and connected devices by performing necessary administrative tasks
- Provide technical training for users as needed and utilize effective time management skills
- Review new hardware and software for potential trial use or purchase
- Provide technical assistance to PK-12 teachers and support personnel on hardware and software to ensure its effective utilization
- Assist in the setup and installation of new technology for both existing and new locations
- Utilize an online ticket system and respond to incoming communications to include but not limited to calls, emails, and/or trouble tickets regarding technology hardware and software related issues
- Answer technical questions regarding computers and status of jobs
- Maintain an accurate inventory of all technology assets in accordance with departmental and district policies and state policies and procedures
- Interact effectively with administrators, teachers, staff members, students, parents and the general public using courtesy, tact, and good judgment
- Provide friendly and courteous customer service to all faculty, staff, students, and the general public
- Follow implemented procedures for virus scanning and removal, computer setup, or any other tasks as required
- Complete all job/task responsibilities in a timely manner and seek assistance if needed
- Participate in training programs to increase skills and proficiency related to the assignment
- Review current developments, literature, and technical sources of information related to job responsibilities
- Attend regular meetings with supervisor in support of system technology initiatives. ie ticket assignments, updates
- Collaborate with supervisor to implement/troubleshoot LAN hardware and software as needed
- Document all activities for the purpose of communication and future problem resolution
- Must be able to work flexible hours and work during off-peak hours as needed to ensure minimum downtime
- Follow work scheduling and attendance requirements in a regular, predictable, and punctual manner
- Ensure adherence to good safety procedures
- Follow federal and state laws, as well as school board policies
- Maintain confidentiality in all matters of the district
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Follow proper chain of command
